and i seriously need to start my reading for biology!! and biochem!!! and everything!!!

My suggestion to you is to try to get some help. You can go to professor or TA to ask for help. Sometimes, it is just some critical point that you can figure out. If someone gives you hint, it is like big breakthrough.
Life is full of challenge. I face some challenge in my work lately. I just have conquer. But, I usually will talk to my staff and have good discussions and act on our conclusions.
By the way, I know a Lille bit about cutoff frequency, but I don't think I am qualified to give you any advice. Please go to someone more professional.
